The app · in development
Stop searching for clothes.
Start recognising them.
Alongside the guides, we are building a shopping app around the same idea: that you would know it when you see it, and have no idea what to type. It is not available yet. This page is what it will do and where it is up to.
The problem
Online shopping is built around a search box. That works when you already know the answer — black wool coat, size M — and falls apart the rest of the time, which is most of the time. So you end up scrolling one retailer's grid at a time, re-applying the same four filters, and closing the tab.
How it will work
Three things, and nothing else.
01
Swipe
Products arrive one at a time, full-bleed, from a lot of different retailers. Keep or skip. That is the entire interaction — no filters to configure, no style quiz before you are allowed to look at anything.
02
The feed learns
Every keep and every skip is a signal: cut, colour, silhouette, price band, brand. After a few dozen swipes it is showing you things you would not have thought to search for, which is the part a search box structurally cannot do.
03
Buy from the retailer
Saved items sit in one place with their prices and which retailers carry them. When you buy, you go to that retailer and check out on their site, at their price, with their returns policy.
What makes it different
A shopping app helps you buy.
Snag helps you find out what you want.

Who it is for
People who shop by eye, not by search box.
If you have ever saved a photo of an outfit with no idea where to buy it, or bought the same safe thing for the fourth time because finding anything else was too much work, that is the person this is being built for.

Questions
The things people ask first.
- Is Snag free?
- Yes, and there is no paid tier planned. We are paid a commission by retailers when a purchase comes through us, which is why the app itself costs nothing and shows no ads.
- Do I pay more by buying through it?
- No. You pay the retailer’s own price, exactly as if you had gone to their site directly. The commission comes out of their margin, not your total.
- Do you sell my data?
- No. We do not sell personal information, we do not share your swipe history with brands or advertisers, and we do not run third-party advertising. What we collect and why is set out in the Privacy Policy.
- Does paying you more get a product promoted?
- No. Commission rates are not an input to ranking. A feed bent toward margin stops being worth opening, which makes this a commercial argument as much as an ethical one.
- When does it launch?
- There is no announced date. The catalogue and the swipe feed are still being built, and we would rather say that than invent a deadline.
- Who is behind it?
- Snag is an independent project, not owned by a retailer or a brand. Email us and a person replies.
Where the app is up to
The guides are live. The app is not, yet.
The catalogue, accounts and the swipe feed are still being built, and this page says so rather than showing a demo dressed up as a working product. Everything stated here is true today: what Snag is, how it is meant to work, how it intends to make money, and how to reach a person.
